Raven Sanchez

A multi-generational rubbing project led by Raven Sanchez in collaboration with her family members, namely the women in her family who joined her in large scale wax rubbings of her abuelito's (grandparent's) home in East Los Angeles. Sanchez's abuelito (grandfather) whose trade was in plaster, stuccoed the exterior of the home with the help of family who resided there for over 50 years. The rubbing project addresses the impacts of capitalism on family units at the junctures of death and embodies the process of grief.
